The Paint Shop

Colour Play with Fun and imagination

Home to vibrant fluid art and crossover creations from every corner of

The Knicknack Shack.

Here we find creative chaos of the most beautiful kind!

creations from The Paint Shop 2026

The Paint Shop is a place where I totally lose myself in the artwork – 100% absorbed.

Hours are like seconds and it’s almost as if one is on another “plane”!

Our supplies are all good quality and archival so will not fade or yellow over time.  One of my happiest places to be!

After the chameleon cells....

The beauty of fluid art is that there is usually left over paint and spilled paint from the canvas and we just can’t let that all go to waste, so what better way to save it than making more stunning creations with the mop up and left over paint if there isn’t enough to save….

Here are some of the gorgeous creations we made…..

We managed to paint another canvas, a blowout this time with the hairdryer and I’ve never seen hues shift quite like this.  We painted a Canvas Panel which is MDF so much more sturdy than the original ones and thus hasn’t warped.  We paint-dipped some Plywood Hearts, large and small,  in the spilled paint and some paint dipped cardboard scraps.  All are truly spectacular in their own right…..

Chameleon cells

This painting is the beginning of a new You Tube series of experiments working with the Chameleon Cells as they are known.  They are cells that are individually added by the artist with silicone oil or, as I prefer, OGX hair oil.

This painting turned out beautiful and vibrant (even without the varnish as yet) and there is something different to see each time it is viewed.  I wasn’t happy with the result when I first finished this but as it dried and I re-visited it, this painting is just gorgeous!  I am preparing to paint the next one in the series….

You can see this painting being created on our You Tube channel here:

THREE CERAMIC TILES

These three ceramic tiles are amazing works of art, especially as we had to perform an emergency rescue after suffering an accident during their creation, which you can watch on our YouTube Channel

here.

These tiles are quite breathtaking when you see them in the flesh or ceramic should I say with four coats of a gloss varnish which gives them a resin appearance.  We are very proud of them!

mystery purple painting

…So called because all traces of the filming of this fluid art session

have disappeared.  Gone, so no You Tube video, nothing! 🙂

Nonetheless, these paintings (three in total) turned out gorgeous but I may not have finished with them yet and therefore they are not varnished.  I may add some final detail on to them so watch this space…..
